Start Patterns

Find the rule. Follow every shape.

Three squares show how a pattern changes. Choose the fourth square from five options.

  1. Check position, count, size, colour, fill and rotation. A question can contain several rules operating together.
  2. Track each shape separately, then select an option using the mouse, touch, or keys 1–5.
  3. You can change your selection before pressing Confirm answer or Enter. Confirmed answers cannot be revisited during the run.
  4. Complete 20 questions in 17 minutes. There is one overall clock; no separate question timer.
  5. Correct answers and rule explanations appear after the run. Pausing, opening instructions or switching tabs stops the practice clock and hides the puzzle.

This is independent practice with original questions. Preparation guides report 20 questions in 17 minutes; the exact live assessment layout and scoring can differ.

A useful way to approach it

Follow each shape separately. Check position, number, size, colour, fill and rotation before comparing the answer options.

Understanding your results

Review the correct options and the rules behind them. The overall clock, original items and feedback are practice settings.
